1. 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)

 

Storyline: Humanity finds a mysterious, obviously artificial, object buried beneath the Lunar surface and, with the intelligent computer H.A.L. 9000, sets off on a quest.

2. The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes (1969)

Storyline: Some college students manage to persuade the town’s big businessman, A. J. Arno, to donate a computer to their college. When the problem- student, Dexter Riley, tries to fix the computer, he gets an electric shock and his brain turns to a computer;

3. The Conversation (1974)

Storyline: A paranoid and personally-secretive surveillance expert has a crisis of conscience when he suspects that a couple he is spying on will be murdered.

4. Tron (1982)

Storyline: A hacker is literally abducted into the world of a computer and forced to participate in gladiatorial games where his only chance of escape is with the help of a heroic security program.

5. War Games (1983)

Storyline: A young man finds a back door into a military central computer in which reality is confused with game-playing, possibly starting World War III.

6. Cloak and Dagger (1984)

Storyline: 11-year-old Davey, whose mother is dead and whose father doesn’t spend nearly enough time with him. So the boy loses himself in video games–and even has an imaginary friend.

7. Prime Risk (1985)

Storyline: A female engineer, with the assistance of her pilot-wannabe male friend, discovers a way to rip off ATM machines, but in doing so stumbles upon a plot to destroy the U.S. monetary system.

Storyline: A virtual-reality serial killer manages to escape into the real world.

Storyline: A female cyborg cop and her partner hunt a mysterious and powerful hacker called the Puppet Master.

15. 23 (1998)

Storyline: The movie’s plot is based on the true story of a group of young computer hackers from Hannover, Germany. In the late 1980s the orphaned Karl Koch invests his heritage in a flat and a home.

16. Enemy Of The State (1998)

Storyline: A lawyer becomes a target by a corrupt politician and his NSA goons when he accidentally receives key evidence to a serious politically motivated crime.

17. Webmaster (1998) / Skyggen (1998) 

Storyline: JB is the city’s best attacker, who lives a carefully organized life in and outside the network. After hacking into the most powerful of all domains the Stoiser domain, JB thought that the cruel Stoiser would kill him. But instead he gave him a job – as a webmaster.

Storyline: Comedic tale of company workers who hate their jobs and decide to rebel against their greedy boss.
